More Acts Announced For Come Together Festival

Chaingang, Twelve Foot Ninja, Jonathan Boulet and Parades have just been announced as additions to the already massive Come Together festival lineup this June long weekend.

Organisers were kind enough to provide us with a nice summary of each artist, so I’ll let them explain:

With a debut EP produced by Sean Ray aka Snob Scrilla, and having shared stages with Panic at the Disco, Cold War Kids, The Streets, Crystal Castles, Cobra Starship and Young and Restless doesn’t have you equally intrigued and confused, best come Saturday and see Chaingang for yourself. This female fronted punk rock foursome’s 70’s punk, gothic, bar band rock is picking up plenty of attention and admirers at a rapid rate, with good reason.

Twelve Foot Ninja’s music and lyrics are inspired by a story (written by guitarist Stevic) of a ninja’s mission to restore balance in a world headed toward self-inflicted catastrophe. OK, what this means is Twelve Foot Ninja express themselves across genres – pushing hard on the boundaries of musical styles in the process. Metal, dub, rock, funk and world music all get a look in to create their Hybrid sound, which they will uncork on Saturday. The tea party’s definitely just started.

Joining the Come Together fun and games on Sunday, is Mr “so hot right now” himself Jonathan Boulet. Reading like a how to guide to achieving music stardom, the prodigious talent, who hails from Sydney’s Northwest, wrote, recorded, produced and played almost every instrument in his tiny garage studio to create his self titled debut album. Our friends at Triple J featured it, his uplifting pop music captured the masses, he then played for said masses at sold out events and festivals and tada musical stardom (cue applause). But if one dose of Jonathan Boulet was not enough…

Mr Boulet will also be backing up as the drummer for indie pop, post-punk fellows Parades. Forming in 2001 the band has undergone several transformations, with their latest incarnation; Parades emerging in mid 2008, signaling a move away from their hardcore beginnings with their DIY rock fast becoming FBi and Triple J favourites. The Sydney 6 piece has drawn comparisons to Explosions in the Sky, Radiohead, Fugazi, The Postal Service and Sigur Ros, and have supported Malcolm Middleton, Jebediah and performed at the Peats Ridge festival in their short but clearly eventful existence.

With alt rocker’s Kisschasy and hardcore heroes Toe to Toe recently added, Come Together is looking like a great way to spend the June long weekend.
