Mum @ Worldbar, Friday 3rd September

Written by John Ritchie on August 30, 2010

Last week was the biggest night in MUMs three and a bit years of life as we co-hosted the triple j magazine party. Its tough to back up from such a gigantic night but ME from Melbourne might be able to pull it off with their rock opera – Richard Kingsmill described one of their songs this way “We all know Muse love Queen. Well this track is the bastard son of that union.”

Also playing in the back room will be THE LOVE PARADE who sound like swirling colours and beach parties, KHANCOBAN who are launching their single THIS BLOCK and September residents ARC ARCHER & THE CARNIVAL OF SOULS have their first gig of the month.

Upstairs BONFIRE NIGHTS have rolled down from Brisbane with their indie folk tidings that have made them regulars at Brisbane hotspots like Fans and The Zoo. They will be supported by two bands from Newcastle POST PAINT formerly NEW CALEDONIAN BLUE and pop rock band SENDFIRE.

And scattered throughout the 4 dancefloors will be more indie DJs than you can pour a pint over: WALKIE TALKIE, ALVIN, JACK SHIT, NIC YORKE, SAMMY K, 10TH AVENUE, 16 TACOS, WET LUNGS & more…

Be sure to track down your MUM members card to snare $12 forever.
