Music Feeds LIVE: The Darling Downs Streaming This Thursday

Written by Zoltan Blazer on August 20, 2013

Melbourne’s The Darling Downs are a duo with the power of a band and they will be bringing their rousing and beautifully simple melodies to Music Feeds Studio for an exclusive live streamed performance Thursday, 22nd August.

Darling Downs are of course the legendary Kim Salmon (Scientists, Beasts of Bourbon, the Surrealists, Salmon, The Business, Precious Jules, Antenna with Dave Faulkner, and Runaways with Spencer P Jones) and Ron S. Peno (Died Pretty, Ron S. Peno and The Superstitions). The pair have reunited to release their first album in six years, In The Days When The World Was Wide, which is out now. The album is a simple but potent mixture of folk, bluegrass and indie rock featuring earworms-a-plenty.

The duo are also bringing their live show up the east coast to Sydney for a gig at The Annandale. Although they might seems slight on paper the banjo of Kim Salmon and vocals of Ron S. Peno will, no doubt, make for an unforgettable show.
