Mystery Jets Australian Tour 2012 – Fat As Butter Sideshows

Written by Mike Hohnen on July 30, 2012

The Fat As Butter sideshows continue to flow in thick and fast. Today it has been announced that UK lads Mystery Jets will be spreading the love throughout the East Coast, announcing headlining dates to coinside with their Newcastle festival appearance.

Their return to Australia comes hand in hand with their latest release Radlands, the band’s fourth studio release, which, by all accounts, has been met with the same overwhelming approval as albums number 1, 2 and 3. Radlands was produced by Mystery Jets with the Midas touch of Dan Carey (Hot Chip, Franz Ferdinand, Emiliana Torrini). So determined was the band to produce an absolute masterpiece that they even relocated to Austin, Texas for the process.

This year’s Fat As Butter has taken a sharp turn down the ‘rock’ highway, picking up some of the greatest nostalgic acts, including Good Charlotte and Yellowcard. Though that’s not to say punters won’t get their fair share of dance, with Eiffel 65 and N-Trance both getting on the decks.
