New Babyshambles Album In The Pipelines, Says Bassist

It has been confirmed that Babyshambles will be following up their 2007 full-length album Shotter’s Nation. Though not too much is known about the forthcoming material, Bassist Drew McConnell has told NME (Via Live4Ever UK) that it’s definitely coming.

According to McConnell, frontman Pete Doherty originally set out to write a follow-up to his 2009 solo release Grace/Wastelands but invited McConnell as well as producer Stephen Street around the moment the material started sounding more like something Babyshambles would play.

Since their previous drummer Adam Ficek departed in 2010, Jamie Morrison will be handling the skins duties, but the album will see the return of original guitarist Mick Whitnall, keyboard player Stephen Large and John Robinson.

This could be the result of rumours that kicked up last July after Doherty was spotted with ex-bandmate Carl Barat, with the pair meeting up in both Thailand and Paris.
