The title of the next Coldplay album may have been leaked by some clever detective work done by a fan on the official Coldplay forums, suggesting the title of the new album (or even the name of a new single) will be Mylo Xyloto.
A member named spike posted:
“I’m a member of PRS and (as a member) you can search their online database of registered songs,” the fan wrote. I typed in Chris Martin and looked at all the newly registered work under ‘Christopher Anthony John Martin’ and a song called ‘Mylo Xyloto’ was registered on 6th July 2011!
“The writers registered for the song are all of Coldplay and Brian Eno. Wither [sic] they actually call the album ‘Mylo Xyloto’ or not or that might be the lead single (maybe released on October 10th because the first letters of each word being MX).”
The royalties for the songs are also listed with Chris Martin getting 38% of the cut, while his band members will get 19% each. Brian Eno will get a nice 4.25% for his contribution as producer.
Coldplay will be out here for the Splendour in the Grass 2011 line-up this weekend.
