Nick Murphy Is Collaborating With D.R.A.M. On New Music

Nick Murphy, the man formerly known as Chet Faker, has revealed that he’s currently working on new music with broccoli-loving US rapper D.R.A.M..

Speaking with triple j today, Murphy opened up about the new material he’s working on, and a song which features contributions from his m8 “big baby D.R.A.M.”.

“We’ve got one track that we’ve been working on,” Murphy said, before making it clear that he doesn’t know if the new track will “manifest itself into a finished song”.

In September last year, D.R.A.M. shared a candid selfie of himself with Murphy (above), complete with the caption, “Rare sighting of Big Baby D.R.A.M. And Nick Murphy”.

Murphy also told triple j today that the material he’s currently working on has seen input from his previous collaborators Marcus Marr and Simon Green (AKA Bonobo).

We also know that a collaboration between Murphy and Canadian producer Kaytranada is coming “soon”, while Murphy’s latest solo single ‘Stop Me, Stop You’ is set to appear on a forthcoming debut album under his new (and very real) name.

Murphy is currently touring Australia as part of Laneway Festival. D.R.A.M., meanwhile, was the first act to be announced on this year’s Groovin The Moo lineup, but later pulled out of the festival.
