Nine Inch Nails Will Tour Australia: “Soundwave Wasn’t The Right Vibe For Us”, Says Reznor

Trent Reznor has assured fans that his flagship project, Nine Inch Nails, will see Australian shores again in the near-future. Reznor took to Twitter to let fans know that despite not appearing on the bill for Soundwave 2014 as anticipated, they still have plans to tour Down Under.

UPDATE: NIN have teased an impending Australian tour announcement with a huge co-headliner!

Frontman Reznor addressed Australia specifically in the tweet and explained the reason for not making an appearance at the 2014 edition of the festival, saying “Australia: we love you and we’re coming. Didn’t feel Soundwave was the right vibe for us or our fans – working on a better scenario.”

This comes in contrast to notoriously outspoken Soundwave promoter AJ Maddah, who likewise took to Twitter to explain the reason for the band’s absence on the 2014 lineup, saying “Sadly Trent wants to be mainstream now and reach Justin Timberlake’s audience” and added the he’s “no longer interested in working with them.”

Looks like while Aussie NIN fans have a reason to be happy, Reznor just lost a fan in AJ Maddah.
