If you ever wanted to see Kurt Cobain launch turkeys out of his mangina, do we have the video for you – a rare TV teaser for Nirvana‘s classic In Utero, unearthed for the 20-year anniversary of the album that gave us tracks like Heart-Shaped Box and All Apologies.
The Steve Albini-produced masterpiece is set for a deluxe reissue this September to celebrate the occasion, receiving the same treatment Nevermind got in 2011. The old promo video sees Kurt, Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic at a pre-natal coaching class alongside comedian Bobcat Goldthwait, with everyone in drag.
With lines like, “Did you know that the placenta makes really yummy soup?” we’d probably advise against watching this one at work, unless of course you work in a pre-natal placenta cooking school or something.
Whether or not the purchase of the re-release will just be lining Cobain’s widow Courtney Love‘s pockets is debatable – it’s been said that Love lost rights to Cobain’s estate in 2012, with their daughter Frances Bean Cobain apparently now in charge.
