No Coaster Festival For 2012 – May Return In The Future

Gosford’s Coaster Festival will not be taking place this year after organisers revealed that they won’t be running an event for 2012. With the current festival climate looking fairly shaky in recent times, it’s probably not a bad decision, and they’re assuring us that they will be looking to return sometime in the future.

Coaster was first held in September 2008 and always returned at the beginning of the summer festival season to present a good range of local Australian bands with the occasional known international acts appearing on top of the lineups. However, last year we saw a pure Aussie show with John Butler Trio, Drapht, Little Red and Jebediah headlining the event.

This statement was posted on their Facebook page:

“To all of our Coaster friends and everyone that has come to one of our shows over the past four years, we wanted to let you know that we will not be running Coaster in 2012. We are looking to return sometime in the future and thank every single person who helped make Coaster so much fun to be a part of.”
