Northlane Announce Free Your Mind 2014 Mini-Fest Tour

Written by Greg Moskovitch on February 5, 2014

Metalcore troop Northlane have announced the 2014 launch of their own curated mini-festival, which they will headline themselves, titled Free Your Mind 2014. The touring event will include five acts on its Australian leg, including international and local artists, the latter chosen via competition.

There are four acts to be announced and kicking off Monday, 10th February, a different touring act for Free Your Mind will be announced via Channel V‘s “LOUD” evening program. Readers can check out the announcement schedule below, after the dates for this exciting live music event.

“We always wanted to have our own brand that we can use to create tours in Australia and around the world. We are starting small so that we can grow it into something truly special,” said the band. The Blacktown heroes already have a reputation for doing things their own way.

All of the dates on this tour are one-off shows, with no extra dates planned for any cities. They will be the last on the highly successful album cycle launched by the band’s 2012 release, Singularity, which received high acclaim and nabbed the band spots at Big Day Out and Soundwave.

UPDATE 4:23pm AEDT 04/03/14: The full lineup for Free Your Mind 2014 has been announced as Northlane, Thy Art Is Murder, Veil Of Maya, Volumes, and Make Them Suffer. TAIM, who recently made headlines for their stage antics, were announced as the final addition yesterday.

Complimenting the considerable local muscle, metal outfit Veil Of Maya, who recently toured with Northlane in the US, hail from Chicago, and up-and-comers Volumes, who will be making their second trip around Australian on the Free Your Mind tour, were bred in Los Angeles.

UPDATE 9:44pm AEDT 04/03/14: Northlane have announced the addition of a special under-18s show to their upcoming Free Your Mind 2014 tour, to take place on Wednesday, 21st May at The Hi-Fi in Brisbane. Tickets are on sale now, check below for all details.
