Of Mice And Men Frontman Austin Carlile Guilty On New Assault Charge

Of Mice & Men frontman Austin Carlile has been found guilty of misdemeanour assault. During an appearance at the Bowling Green Municipal Courthouse yesterday, Carlile’s original charge of felony assault relating to an incident earlier last month was lowered to the lighter charge before the guilty verdict was passed.

The lesser charge carried with it a fine of US$1000 in addition to court expenses. $800 of that fine was suspended leaving the sum of $335, which Carlile paid in full before leaving the courthouse.

Carlile originally faced a charge of felonious assault following a brawl in Ohio that left a 22-year-old unconscious with a fractured nose late March.

Following his court appearance Carlile took to his Twitter account and quoted American cartoonist Bil Keane, “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift of God, which is why we call it the present.”
