Of Mice & Men Cancel Tour Dates As Frontman Has Another Health Emergency

Of Mice & Men have broken the news that they’ll no longer be seeing out their remaining European tour dates. In a statement, the band say they have had to cancel shows due to serious health concerns for vocalist Austin Carlile.

Of Mice & Men’s announcement was preempted by the band cutting short their recent set in Portsmouth, UK. The band attempted to push forward with their other upcoming dates, but Carlile apparently become far too serious of a concern.

“We attempted to play the show in Cardiff the following night, but it became increasingly obvious that we were not able to continue and that we need to focus on Austin’s health,” the band say.

“The reality is that we feel the best thing to do right now is go home, get Austin the appropriate medical attention & regroup before we head back out on the road again.”

This is of particular concern for the band’s Australian fans, given the group are scheduled to perform with A Day To Remember around the country this December. However, in a statement to Music Feeds, tour promoter Live Nation says, “We can confirm Of Mice and Men will play the Australian tour dates as scheduled.”

This isn’t the first time that Carlile’s ability to tour has been hindered by health issues. Recently, he pushed through a full set despite suffering from a collapsed lung.

Of Mice & Men Statement (Via Facebook)

Dear European Fans,

It is with our sincerest apologies that we are forced to cancel the remaining dates on this current headline tour. We had to cut short our set in Portsmouth on Saturday night due to Austin being in pain throughout the show. We attempted to play the show in Cardiff the following night, but it became increasingly obvious that we were not able to continue and that we need to focus on Austin’s health. As much as we wish we could complete the remaining dates of this tour we know that we would be doing a disservice to all of our loyal fans, as well as ourselves, performing under the current circumstances.

The reality is that we feel the best thing to do right now is go home, get Austin the appropriate medical attention & regroup before we head back out on the road again. We appreciate that our fans understand how important it is that we put health first & foremost & know that we would never cancel shows unless we felt it absolutely necessary.

Refunds will be available at point of purchase for all cancelled shows.

Much love- Aaron, Alan, Austin, Phil & Tino.
