Original Marilyn Manson Guitarist Scott ‘Daisy Berkowitz’ Putesky Has Died

Marilyn Manson‘s original guitarist Scott ‘Daisy Berkowitz‘ Putesky has passed away at the age of 49.

Putesky, who co-founded Manson’s band in 1989, died of colon cancer this week after being diagnosed back in 2013.

The Miami goth scene pioneer left Manson’s band due to creative differences in 1996 — after performing on both his Portrait of An American Family and Smells Like Children albums  — and went on to join Jack Off Jill, Godhead and later form his own band, Three Tom Gate.

Jack Off Jill have memorialised the iconic axeman in a Facebook post, stating: “Saying good bye to Scott, friend, band mate, artist , hero.. RIP Scott – ‘always touched by your presence dear’. Daisy Berkowitz.”

The tragic news comes after Jack Off Jill singer Jessicka Addams accused Manson’s longtime bassist Twiggy Ramirez of rape. Addams has written a long post to her own Facebook, alleging that her romantic relationship with Ramirez — which began when she was 18 — steadily devolved to become physically and emotionally abusive and eventually culminated with rape.
