Ozomatli Cancel Harvest Festival Appearances

Ozomatli have unexpectedly cancelled their appearances at next month’s Harvest Festival.

Promoter AJ Maddah announced the news via his Twitter account this morning, saying the band had “sadly dropped out” of the event, and that he’s “not sure why” they’ve suddenly pulled the pin. View his tweet at the bottom of this page.

The LA-based band – whose lineup ranges anywhere from seven-ten members – released their latest album Fire Away two years ago, and were planning on unveiling a few new songs as part of their festival set. They last visited our shores back in 2010, so if you thought that was a long time between drinks, sadly, it’s going to be even longer now.

Harvest 2012 kicks off in Melbourne on November 10 and 11, before heading to Sydney and Brisbane the next weekend. This year’s lineup is led by Ben Folds Five, Beck and Sigur Ros. For all the information on the festival and who’s playing, click here.
