Three of Australia’s most respected individual musicians have announced an eight-date group tour to showcase the true nature of their versatility as creative artists. Paul Kelly, Neil Finn and Lisa Mitchell will join forces across February and March to bring their music to the ears of many, playing three dates at Sydney’s Opera House as well as Melbourne’s, Palais Theatre and several others.
Lisa Mitchell will support the pair of Paul Kelly and Neil Finn as they play tracks from both discographies. Punters should “Expect a rousing set of Kelly’s classic songs that have settled deep in the Australian psyche, along with some of Australasia’s most memorable musical moments from Finn’s songbook, which includes Crowded House, Split Enz, Finn Brothers and solo material,” as they take the stage for a free show at Adelaide’s Elder Park, with a free concert in celebration of the Adelaide Festival.
Neil Finn will also showcase some new material form his forthcoming album solo album, the first in ten years. The album, produced by Dave Fridmann (MGMT, The Flaming Lips) is set for release in late 2013. This will allow punters the first glimpse of what is to come for the iconic singer/songwriter, as well as gaining a retrospective glance at his classics.
