Paul McCartney, Metallica Lead Lollapalooza 2015 Lineup

The much anticipated lineup for the 2015 Lollapalooza festival in Chicago has dropped and it’s lead by the likes of Paul McCartney, Metallica and Florence and the Machine.

Reports Consequence of Sound, the lineup has been revealed early thanks to photos posted on imgur of a Chicago Tribune article with the full lineup printed. The local publication usually confirms the names on the Lollapalooza bill each year.

Paul McCartney will make his first appearance at the festival this year when he headlines its first day, while Metallica will reclaim their headline slot for the first time since 1996 when they take to the main stage on day two. They also, probably, need the money.

Florence and the Machine, armed with their new album How Big How Blue How Beautiful, will headline the third day of Lollapalooza 2015.

Also named on the massive lineup are Australian acts Peking Duk, Tame Impala, Chet Faker, Hermitude, Angus & Julia Stone, Alison Wonderland, DMA’s and Sheppard.

They’ll join the likes of Sam Smith, Alt-J, The Weeknd, Tyler the Creator, ASAP Rocky, James Bay, Hot Chip, TV on the Radio, Alabama Shakes, The War on Drugs, Gary Clark Jr., FKA twigs, The Tallest Man on Earth and Glass Animals.

Lollapalooza are yet to officially confirm the lineup on their website.

Lollapalooza are owned by the same company who now have a full stake in Australia’s Big day Out festival, C3 Presents, who in turn were bought out last year by international promoter and ticketing giant Live Nation Entertainment.

Lollapalooza 2015 takes place in Chicago’s Grant Park from Friday, July 31st until Sunday, Augugst 2nd 2015. See the full lineup below.
