Philadelphia Grand Jury Break Up

Written by John Ritchie on November 2, 2011

Philadelphia Grand Jury have called it quits, stating simply that they need space from each other. Founding members Joel ‘MC Bad Genius’ Beeson and Simon ‘Berkfinger’ made up the band and they went through a number of drummers over the years.

The band relocated to London in 2010 before coming back to Australia in August for the Save Our Town tour before disbanding. Although there was speculation earlier in 2011 that the band had broken up, the band told Fasterlouder they were ‘on something of a hiatus’.

Read the statement from Philadelphia Grand Jury’s Facebook page:

Philadelphia Grand Jury are no more. After years of touring together, recording together, working together and living together, we’ve decided we need our own space. Big, big thanks to everyone who has supported us and given us the opportunity to have what is pretty much a dream existence. Most of all, thanks to all the drummers that have put up with us both.
