Phondupe Unveil New Single And Music Video ‘Proxy’

Sydney production duo Phondupe have returned after a period spent trekking the globe, charming fans of indie, rock and electronica. Their new single Proxy features vocals by New York City native Justin Dean Thomas and comes with an atmospheric new music video.

Proxy is a taste of the pair’s upcoming Greenhouse EP, expected to drop later this year. The release is the continuation of Phondupe’s exploration of “the void between synthetic and organic.” The moody Proxy was written in “a Blue Mountains shack,” capturing the spacious sonics of the locale.

The duo have received props from triple j, KCRW LA, East Village Radio and FBi, as well as love from No Fear of Pop and Who The Hell. Their track Man In Elevator was featured in the Jay Z-produced film An Oversimplification Of Her Beauty, directed by Terence Nance.

Directed by filmmaker and photographer Nick Radford and featuring visuals shot by Matt Scott Chow, the video for Proxy matches the track’s sonorous atmospherics and Mo Wax-style beats. You can check out the video and listen to the track below, or download it right here.
