Photos: National Indigenous Music Awards Winners, Darwin – 19/08/2011

The National Indigenous Music Awards were hosted on Friday, with Echo Island singing star Gurrumul Yunupingu the big winner of the night taking out five awards, including the three new national awards for 2011: ‘Song’, ‘Album’ & ‘Act’ of the Year.

Held at the historic Amphithreatre, Darwin Botanical Gardens, this event has become known as the ARIAs of Indigenous music, exposing the breadth and depth of Aboriginal Music created in the NT.
