Portugal. The Man’s Van, Trailer, Gear Stolen In Chicago

Written by Barnaby Smith on August 9, 2011

Alaska-via-Portland psychedelic rockers Portugal. The Man may be in the process of enjoying the prestige and appreciation that have been due for the best part of half a decade thanks to their new album In The Mountain In The Cloud (released last month through Atlantic), but it seems the four-piece have now been confronted with a pretty major problem: the band’s van, trailer and equipment has all been stolen in Chicago, according to Spinner.

The band put the word out about the theft via Twitter on Monday (August 8), the band having performed at Chicago’s Lollapalooza Festival the day before. The tweet read, “HELP People of Chicago and @Lollapalooza our van & trailer & gear where stolen. Red Ford Van, Black trailer Alaska plates FJH244.”

Portugal. The Man have American dates in September and October so require their gear back quick smart. In the mean time, here is a one of the choice cuts from In The Mountain In The Cloud.
