PREMIERE: Golden Vessel And Woodes Combine Powers On Blissed-Out Jam ‘Vines’

Written by Mike Hohnen on November 2, 2016

Brisbane producer Golden Vessels (known by the government as Max Byrne) today releases the fourth and final cut from his debut EP Before Sleep. Vines is a collaboration between Bryne and Melbourne siren Woodes, and the result is a blissed-out jam you didn’t even know was your new favourite song.

The track begins as a gentle flicker of a beat, which creeps and creeps until it climaxes into a full bloom. Woodes’ vocals are razor sharp and contrast with the woozy, pulsating and freeing production.

The pair crossed paths towards the end of EMC 2015, finding some time to haul up and work on the track. Speaking of the where the magic came from, Woodes detailed:

“This song was written upon hearing the birds samples Max had in the pre-existing loop. My mind went to a kind of green, cavernous, tropical place. I suppose the content of the lyrics is quite straight forward, the idea of being in the thick of a relationship, having a disagreement, but being able to give one another time and space to work through things.”

This might be the finale of Before Sleep, but this fans will be able to get their fix in December as Golden Vessel travels the country in support of Willow Beats.

Golden Vessel’s Vines and Before Sleep EP are available now on iTunes. Have a listen here below.
