Melbourne-based five piece The Trotskies are gearing up for the release of their second EP and today we’re premiering the video for its first single DYR, complete with the announcement of a run of east coast tour dates.
Drawing from their love of ’70s and ’80s post-punk, on DYR The Trotskies have crafted a dense and dark soundscape, filled to the brim with droning guitars and a kick-driven hypnotic beat. The video, with its eccentric take on classic gangster movie tropes, encapsulates this suspenseful energy.
After releasing their debut EP in 2013, with lead single Vis A Vision, the band have been busy over the last year on tour supporting the likes of Kele, Wolf & Cub and Gang Of Youths. Now, The Trotskies will showcase their brand new single on a set of east coast tour dates once again this November and December.
They were also just named as one of the acts on the local lineup of the inaugural Beyond The Valley festival, due to take over Phillip Island this New Year’s Eve. Watch the DYR video and see all The Trotskies’ upcoming tour information below.
