Chances are, if you bear a resemblance to US pop sensation Taylor Swift, you’re doing pretty well for yourself. The downside of this is that you’re going to attract a lot of unwanted attention. Such is the case of Xenna Kristian, an 18-year-old student from the UK, whose work as a Tay-Tay lookalike put her on the wrong side of her classmates, who attacked her en masse.
During a lesson at Shropshire College (think UK TAFE) it’s alleged that Kristian was pulled from her chair by her ponytail and repeatedly kicked in the face. As well as some nasty looking bruising, Kristian may also have a broken jaw.
The teen, who has been working as a lookalike from the beginning of the year, has since spoken about the ordeal, explaining, “They must be jealous that I’m going off to do something with my life… Nothing like this has ever happened to me before. I’m still shaken.”
She says the beating has also impacted her work. “I’ve had to cancel three appearances this week. If my jaw is broken I could be out of action for two months.”
The dust is still yet to settle surrounding the event, with the drama finding its way online. Kristian didn’t help the situation when she called out her attackers in a boastful tweet, which inspired a volley of hate in response; check out some of the tweets below.
The real Taylor Swift will be hitting Australian shores this coming December, bringing her gigantic Red tour with her.
