Purple Sneakers This Week: 16th October 2009

16th October, on this day in history some of the following awesome things happened:-

1781- George Washington captures Yorktown, Virginia after the Siege of Yorktown.

1939- The Food and Agriculture Organization is founded in Quebec City, Canada.

1951- The diplomatic relations between the Soviet Union and the German Democratic Republic are established.

1995 – The Million Man March occurs in Washington, D.C.

2009 – Long running night club ‘Purple Sneakers’ makes its punters dance so hard that a midget drowns in a pool of sweat.

To get this sweat-fest kicking this week we have trucked in f*#k load of Sydney’s finest indie party DJs including our very special guest MONKEY GENIUS. We also have a very rare and special guest DJ set from 3D World big shot FUTURA. They are supported by Purple Sneakers DJs PhDJ, M.I.T and BEN LUCID.

This week we’re excited to be hosting the first official Dangerbird Records night at Purple Sneakers. In celebration of this we are going to be launching not one, but three of their brand new artists, Bad Veins – ‘Bad Veins’, Eulogies – ‘Here Anonymous’ and Sea Wolf – ‘White Water, White Bloom’.
