Pussy Riot Ebook ‘Pussy Riot! A Punk Prayer For Freedom’ Out Soon

Pussy Riot, the all-female Russian activist punk collective of which three members were recently sentenced to two years imprisonment after having been found guilty of hooliganism motivated by religious hatred, is expected to release an eBook, titled Pussy Riot! A Punk Prayer for Freedom, in about two weeks from today.

According to Diffuser, the book will be comprised of a series of letters and poems from jailed band members Maria Alyokhina, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Yekaterina Samutsevich, along with tributes from numerous prominent poets, artists, musicians, and personalities such as Yoko Ono.

The book will also contain court documents from the trial. All proceeds go towards the Pussy Riot legal defense team. Pussy Riot! A Punk Prayer for Freedom will reportedly only cost $2.99. Although Music Feeds is not sure whether or not that’s in Australian dollars, it’s cheap anyway you look at it.

Recently Pussy Riot posted a thank you video to supporters, which can be viewed via NME. The clip shows band members shouting their appreciation from a roof top while burning an image of Russian President Vladmir Putin.
