Qantas Grounded: Kings Of Leon Drummer Stranded

Qantas flights will be back in the air today but as we reported over the weekend, a number of touring bands were affected after all planes were grounded.

Now it appears Kings Of Leon were caught up in the mayhem. Drummer Nathan Followill was due to fly in for the band’s November Australian tour but had to take diverted flights through Dubai.

The drummer tweeted:

Dear Qantas, u suck, thanks 4 fucking up my trip 2 Oz. Joberg-Dubai-Sydney. 24 hours in the air. That’s how much I love Oz.

But it seems it wasn’t all bad with a following tweet reading:

The silver lining is that we are throwing one hell of a halloween party on the plane. I’m going as the drunk guy in seat 5a

The band are due to kick off their Australian dates next Friday (November 4) at Sydney’s Acer Arena, with shows in Brisbane, Gold Coast, Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth also pencilled in.
