Rage Is Turning Dirty 30 And Celebrating With A Ten-Day Music Bender

Ageing Gen Y-er Rage  is turning the big 3-0 this month, and to take the sting off the ABC music show is going on a ten-day bender.

Kicking off on April 14th, Rage will be partying across multiple platforms including ABC TV, radio, print and IRL, to relive the show’s most iconic moments and school us on the evolution of Aussie music & culture.

As The Music reports, Kate Ceberano will host Rage30: Stories From The Red Couch on April 21st; a TV special packed with highlights from the hundreds of guest programmers whose arses have graced the show’s iconic sofa, while a half-hour throwback radio special dubbed Rage ‘Til you Puke will spotlight chats with musos, producers and fans on Double J’s The J Files podcast on April 14th.

Meanwhile, a commemorative doco commissioned by the ABC last year entitled Rage 30: The Story Of Rage will hit TV and iView screens on April 17th, featuring some of Australia’s most beloved musos and industry pros taking us for a walk down musical memory lane (catch the teaser below).

The Rage crew are also inviting punters to help program the show in honour of their dirty 30th, running a comp for fans to submit their perfect playlist to win the chance to choose the music over the show’s big bday weekend (enter here).

A special Rage 30 Magazine: Collector’s Edition will also be released, where old schoolers can read yarns from the likes of Myf Warhurst and Lindsay McDougall, while IRL Rage‘s iconic red couch will be on display in the main foyer of ABC’s Ultimo Centre in Sydney until April 23rd for all of your selfie needs.

Here’s to Raging for the next 30 years, gang.
