This Recyclable & Rainproof Tent Is Heading To Aussie Festivals

Chances are, unless you’re an avid camper, the only reason you bring a tent to a festival is to soak up the whole festival atmosphere and afterwards you couldn’t care less what happens to it.

Plenty of tents get left behind at festivals, sad and muddy, because after three days of hangovers and bad sleeps, punters are sick of it. That’s fare enough, but it does mean someone else has to clean it up or else it’s left to mess with the environment.

There’s a solution though, thanks to a very clever Dutch company KarTent.

The KarTent is a 100 per cent recyclable cardboard tent which is light and can be responsibly disposed of after the event. It’s been spreading like wildfire in Europe but it’s finally coming to Australia for Wollongong’s Yours & Owls festival at the end of September.

The festival will set up the two-person tent for you and once your done, the tents will be recycled so you can focus on the important things, like the impending comedown.

You probably think that it’s a little stupid relying on a cardboard tent when rain is a very real possibility but it’s waterproof. Watch the video below if you’re a bit suss.

It’s only going to cost you $90 for three nights between the two of you which is a whole lot better than purchasing a tent you’re going to use once and hate for the rest of your life.

The best part is, you can design the exterior yourself if you BYO pens and pencils.
