LMFAO‘s Redfoo was attacked at the Golden Sheaf Hotel in Sydney’s eastern suburbs last night, leaving the entertainer and X-Factor judge with a cut to his head. An image of the exact moment that a glass hit the entertainer, just after 12:30am at the Double Bay establishment, has made its way onto Twitter.

The 38-year-old entertainer, whose real name is Stefan Kendal Gordy, told the Sydney Morning Herald that a man threw a glass at him then later started taunting him. According to Gordy, he was in the VIP section of the hotel when he was attacked by the man, whom he’d never previously met.

Police say a 21-year-old man approached Gordy in the hotel on New South Head Road and threw the glass in an unprovoked attack. The glass struck Gordy above his right eye, leaving a small cut on his face, which was treated at the scene by paramedics. Images of the cut have made their way onto social media.

Speaking to radio station KIIS 106.5, Gordy recounted how he and his crew were celebrating the launch of his new song, New Thang, and were about to leave for an after-party when the attack happened. “The first thing I do is look where it came from and I see, you know, a dude kind of like ducking and dodging and trying to run away, so the chase is on. But then he is being detained, and I’m being held back.”

“I [saw] kind of a dodgy fella trying to flee the scene… I looked down at my hand and there was blood all over my hand,” he recounted to the the Daily Telegraph. “So I go and I try to chase him out but they’re holding me back. I wanted to see what the guy looks like… He starts blowing me kisses and winking…”

Gordy said he made a statement to police, who informed him that the attack was captured on a surveillance camera. The entertainer has since joked about the incident on his Twitter account, but questioned why there were “glass cups” in the venue to begin with during his appearance on KIIS 106.5.

“My thing is, who has glass cups, these big glass cups? …In most clubs you go to they don’t have glass bottles, they’re plastic… That’s what I just hope out of this whole situation, is that they change the cups,” he said. He also expressed a desire to have the alleged attacker explain his behaviour: “I just want to know why would you launch a glass at somebody’s head with the intention of [hurting]. It’s unbelievable.”
