Regina Spektor has revealed that she has plans to visit Australia later this year after revealing the news in a message for her fans last night. She hasn’t given much info yet, other than that we can expect her to be here around December, and that show dates and tickets will come soon.
Spektor, who is currently in Spain and will be doing a number of dates around Europe for the rest of this month, took to Facebook to show her excitement, saying: “Hi everyone!!!! I’m very excited to announce that I will be coming back to New Zealand and Australia in December!!! Soon we will give the link with show dates and ticket updates (sign up for mailing list on reginaspektor.com if you want early notices) big cheers from Spain!!! (i love you Madrid!!!thank you!) regi”
We last saw her out here for Splendour in the Grass 2011, playing the GW McLennan tent, but her last “tour” came in 2010, visiting several cities including Sydney’s Opera House, which quickly sold out. She’ll be showcasing her latest album What We Saw From the Cheap Seats, which was released in May, following on from highly successful record, Far, which was released back in 2009.
