A spokesman for Mick Jagger has rubbished reports that the Rolling Stones frontman and longtime girlfriend L’Wren Scott had split before the fashion designer’s tragic death from causes yet to be officially determined. The rep has insisted that Jagger and Scott were “absolutely” still a couple.
Scott, whose business, LS Fashion Ltd, had provided designs worn by Nicole Kidman, Angelina Jolie, Penelope Cruz, Madonna, and Michelle Obama, began dating the legendary singer in 2001, following his split from Jerry Hall. According to the New York Post, Scott’s business was struggling.
The News Corp-owned paper also reports that an anonymous law enforcement source described the designer and former fashion model as Jagger’s “former” girlfriend and that last week, Scott herself told a longtime friend from her native Utah that the Stones frontman had dumped her.
However, a spokesman for Jagger has denied these reports, saying, “A split between Mick Jagger and L’Wren Scott is one-hundred percent untrue,” adding, “There is absolutely no basis in fact to this story. It is a horrible and inaccurate piece of gossip during this very tragic time for Mick.”
The Stones were set to perform the first show of their sold-out 14 On Fire tour in Perth this Wednesday. The fate of the tour is currently in doubt, with reports surfacing that Jagger has already departed for New York on a private jet, while others claim a postponement is imminent.
