Rice is Nice Sign The Laurels

Written by Marc Zanotti on April 10, 2012

Australian record label Rice is Nice has announced their latest signing: Sydney quartet The Laurels.

With an indie sound and psychedelic feel, The Laurels should be right at home at Rice alongside new label mates Shady Lane. The Laurels EP Mesozoic has gathered positive reviews from the likes of The Age and The Brag, while their live shows are praised by street press paper Drum Media.

Last year The Laurels finished fourth in ‘Best Live Act’ reader poll conducted Mess + Noise and were nominated for both ‘Best Live Music Act’ in the FBi SMAC Awards. In addition, The Laurels also were nominated for ‘Best New Talent’ in The Age EG Awards

With their first full length due out later this year, The Laurels are hitting the road with Pond throughout the month of April
