Rosetta Announce Australian Tour For July/August 2012

Written by Mike Solo on May 12, 2012

US post-metal outfit Rosetta are returning to Australia in July for their second tour on our shores.

Having captivated Australian audiences in 2008 as a relatively unknown band making their first international voyage, the four-piece went on to release their critically acclaimed third album A Determinism of Morality in 2010. In the years since, they’ve been a part of various split releases with Year of No Light, East of The Wall, Restorations, and Junius, as well as having undertaken multiple European tours. This tour will be professionally filmed and included in the band’s forthcoming documentary release.

This time fellow US group City of Ships are also along for the ride. Defying specific classification with an eclectic mixture of epic and grooving sounds, the band’s second album Minor World, draws comparisons to Thrice, Cave In and Isis.

Brisbane-based and self-proclaimed ‘sunshine metal’ group Nuclear Summer will round out the touring party.

The tour will be accompanied by a new split EP release between Rosetta and City of Ships, to be released through Bird’s Robe Records (www.birdsrobe.bandcamp.com)
