Rou Reynolds (Enter Shikari) To Release Charity EP To Help Fight Poverty

It’s no secret that the charismatic frontman of seminal post-hardcore meets electronic outfit Enter Shikari has strong feelings towards injustice and human rights. Now, in a direct action to make a difference, rather than most of his peers who draw the line at singing about it, Rou Reynolds and bandmate Rory C will release the Norishment EP.

Under his production guise of Rout, the master of all trades has worked hand in hand with his favourite charity ActionAid for the release, which will be out later this month. Tracks off the EP will feature samples from musical recordings made by ActionAid while working in the grief stricken region of Ghana. This includes songs recorded in Witch Camps – where young girls are held against their will after being accused of being witches.

Of the release, Reynolds commented: “Hearing about ActionAid’s work from someone who’d seen it first-hand captured my imagination, and I wanted to produce this record to make sure all our fans go and check out the amazing stuff ActionAid do.”

A spokesperson from the charity also commented on the EP, discussing that “What’s really amazing about this EP is that it takes songs of hope from people we work with around the world and weaves them into something even greater. We really hope that when fans download the EP, they’ll take a couple of minutes to find out a bit more about what we do, as well as enjoying Rou’s amazing tunes.” According to Stereo Board.

The Nourishment EP will hopefully raise awareness of the dire situation in the area. It will be available Tuesday, 28th August in exchange for a minimum donation of just $1.00 to ActionAid. You don’t even need to dig that deep to support this one.
