Swedish pop-rock duo Roxette have added a second and final Sydney show to their 2015 Australian tour. The new date will see Roxette’s Marie Fredriksson and Per Gessle perform in the iconic Opera House forecourt in February, backed by the city’s harbour.
“To play this show on the steps of the Sydney Opera House is an absolute honour and is sure to be a major highlight of the tour!” Gessle has said.
“We are beyond thrilled to head back to Australia, a stunning country with beautiful fans who have remained some of our most loyal supporters over the last few decades. Marie, the band and I are ready and raring to go with a brand new show full of our hit songs and a few surprises.”
Roxette toured Australia in 2012, after the release of their 2011 comeback single She’s Got Nothing On (But The Radio). The Swedes added some extra shows to that tour as well, after selling out a number of dates.
Roxette’s second Sydney date will take place during the inaugural week-long series of outdoor ‘On The Steps’ concerts, which form part of the 2014-2015 Summer at the House line-up.
The addition of a new Sydney show brings the Australian leg of Roxette’s 30th Anniversary Tour to a total of nine performances, including two as part of A Day On The Green. Roxette will be supported by 80s band Boom Crash Opera throughout their tour.
