Written by John Ritchie on April 5, 2010

Following on from the SLAM rally on February 23rd, which saw thousands of live music fans take to the streets of Melbourne to protest against the government’s stance on live music in the capital, the Fair Go 4 Live Music petition has been collecting signatures from music lovers all around Victoria, calling on the State Government to overturn the link between live music and ‘high risk’ conditions on liquor licenses for live music venues.

The petition will be delivered to the Legislative Council on Wednesday April 7th at 12.30pm by various decades of well-known Victorian musicians.

The Victorian musicians who will be presenting the Fair Go 4 Live Music petition to Parliament are Harold Frith, Mike Rudd, Ross Wilson, Jon Von Goes, Kram, Clare Bowditch, Angie Hart, Dan Sultan and Evelyn Morris.
