Sam Smith Cancels More International Tour Dates Due To “Horrid” Vocal Injury

Sam Smith fans in Japan and the Philippines have joined ranks with a disappointed legion of Aussie fans after Smith cancelled another run of international tour dates due to ongoing issues with a vocal haemorrhage.

“Very upset about Japan and Manilla dates. I’ve just left Australia and I’m on my way to the states to see a specialist to see what to do from there,” wrote Smith in an Instagram post. “This is fucking horrid.”

Just last week, Smith cancelled the remaining dates of his Australian tour, including an appearance at the Logie Awards, after suffering a haemorrhage on his vocal chords following two shows earlier that week.

Taking to Instagram a few days ago, Smith told followers he was relaxing “somewhere in the middle of Australia” and hadn’t “spoken a word in three days”.

“So amazing to have this time to turn off, but it does make me realise how much I love what I do, and how much I miss you all when I’m not on stage,” he added. “I hope you are all happy and healthy wherever you are.” Awww, right back at ya Sam.

Sam Smith is expected to reschedule a new Australian tour for December 2015. He is due to play a couple of US festivals in the next few weeks, followed by dates in the UK and Europe.

Here’s to a speedy recovery.
