Second Vans Warped Tour Announcement To Drop Next Week

Written by Greg Moskovitch on October 8, 2013

Soundwave promoter and Australia’s most powerful music industry figure AJ Maddah has announced via Twitter that the delayed second announcement for the Australian return of the Vans Warped Tour will finally take place next week, on Friday, 18th October.

Maddah had previously indicated that the second lineup announcement for Warped would take place this week, a scheduling conflict with Swedish punk band Millencolin apparently the cause for the delay. Though with the delay now extended further, there may be larger factors at play.

The second lineup was, according to Maddah, supposed to take place in “Mid-September” but on Sunday, the touring mogul told a fan that the second announcement would happen this week, with the announcement for his flagship event Soundwave to follow soon after.

Maddah has now tweeted “IT’S OFFICIAL: @warpedAU 2nd announcement will take place October 18…thank you for your attention!” The news comes as a relief to many fans who are happy to have a concrete date and the ire of others hoping to hear the second announcement this week.

Aussie post-hardcore band Hands Like Houses were recently revealed to be on the second lineup and Music Feeds has speculated on the likelihood of Sparks The Rescue , The Decline, Reel Big Fish, and We The Kings joining the roster.
