Shadow Child Australian Tour Cancelled

UK DJ Shadow Child, known to some in the EDM world as Dave Spoon, will no longer be touching down in Australia to play his scheduled set as part of the mega Origin NYE lineup tonight in Perth, his management confirming via his Facebook page that the artist has cancelled his Australian tour.

In addition to Origin NYE, the Brit was set to play Field Day and had shows scheduled for Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, and Adelaide. “Due to unforeseen medical circumstances Shadow Child has had to regrettably cancel this run of Australian dates,” his management wrote this morning.

“We apologise to all fans and promoters for this but sadly nothing can be done at this time. A statement direct from the artist will be released shortly,” added management. At the time of publishing, the statement, as well as confirmations from Field Day and Origin NYE are still pending.

“You would really not be saying that if you knew what he has been through. We are sorry for letting you down but if he could physically be there he would,” management added in response to one angry fan’s comment. Music Feeds will have more details as they come through.

UPDATE: Origin NYE have released a post on their official Facebook page, confirming the cancellation of Shadow Child at tonight’s event. Word is yet to come from Field Day organisers and a direct statement from the artist, as promised by his management, has not yet been released.

“It is with regret…that the New Years SHADOWCHILD tour has been cancelled,” open Origin organisers. “Simon has come up with an extremely bad illness which is preventing him from flying out to Australia so we have had to cancel all shows on the tour as he is unable to fly.”

“We’re really sorry about all of this as is the artist / management who are devastated. There will be a change if set times on the next hype stage so please keep posted for updates!” the post concludes.
