Simon And Garfunkel’s ‘The Sound Of Silence’ Is Climbing The Charts Again, Thanks To ‘Sad Affleck’

Simon & Garfunkel‘s folk rock classic single The Sound Of Silence topped the Billboard Hot 100 for two weeks way back in 1966.

Now the song has been revived thanks to a viral video, dubbed Sad Affleck, in which Ben Affleck reacts in an interview to questions about bad reviews and critiques of Zack Snyder’s Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice.

In the video Affleck sits alongside co-star Henry Cavill, and whilst his co-star answers questions in detail, Affleck sits silently, staring off into the distance. Cue: Simon & Garfunkel’s iconic song. Thanks in part to Sad Affleck, The Sound Of Silence is now back on Billboard’s ‘Hot Rock’ Top 10 Chart.

In an even stranger twist of fate, American heavy rock band Disturbed‘s own cover of The Sound Of Silence is currently sitting at number 3 on Billboard’s ‘Hot Rock’ Chart, just three above the original.

What a time to be alive.
