Slash: Scott Weiland Is “Out Of His Mind”

A strange series of events today in the rock world following reports that Velvet Revolver ex-vocalist, Scott Weiland, will be rejoining the group – though ex-bandmate Slash was quick to hit back telling Minneapolis/St. Paul radio station 93X: “We have no intention of going backwards”.

The reports came in after Weiland was interviewed on ABC News Radio. On the subject of Velvet Revolver, Weiland opens up: “We’ve all grown a lot,” he explains. “We’re able to put egos and differences and old…conflicts aside and so that’s really cool”. Weiland then went on to comment about the band’s future, chatting about their up-and-coming third studio release, which apparently they have already started working on: “They gave me a couple of songs and myself and [guitarist] Dave [Kushner] and [bassist] Duff [McKagan] are gonna be getting together for a songwriting session next week”.

Enter Slash.

“He’s  out of his mind.” Slash began trying to clear up the situation: “Maybe they know something I don’t”. Admitting that perhaps his current bandmates may have been operating on the sly, Slash continues to say: “There’s been a common rumour going around. I know that he’s been positive on that subject”. Though he is quick to kill the rumors: “I have absolutely no intention of going back to that … I’m on tour all this year. I’ll have to call Duff [McKagan], but I seriously doubt that. We have no intentions of going backwards.”

The plot thickens! I guess we will have to wait and see: Is Scott Weiland out of his mind? Or is Slash out of the loop?
