Aussie post-rockers sleepmakeswaves have stepped up their support for Australia’s LGBTQI+ communities, releasing a limited edition rainbow t-shirt featuring the band’s logo.
The band made the announcement today via Facebook, revealing that after some interest online for a rainbow shirt they’d decided to make one available for purchase.
All profits from the sale of the new shirt will go towards LGBTQI+ counselling service and support agency Twenty10.
“Beyond words on social media, we wanted to try and do something to materially support one of the incredible LGBTQI+ support agencies that are on the front lines of a cruel and unnecessary plebiscite on marriage equality in Australia,” said the band.
“We chose Twenty10 after some conversations with our friends in the community and we understand they have had a big impact on access to counselling and mental health services for folks who identify as LGBTQI+.
“The rights and wellbeing of the LGBTQI+ are an issue that we feel strongly about now and into the future. So please dig in and show your support for our fellow humans.”
The shirt is now available from the band’s Bandcamp page for $25, with all profits going to Twenty10.
