Slipknot Drummer Joey Jordison’s New Single For ‘Scar The Martyr’ Unleashed

Scar The Martyr, the latest project from Slipknot’s Joey Jordison, have unveiled the single from their upcoming debut album. The single is called Blood Host and is available to stream via the Roadrunner Records SoundCloud page.

The famously prolific drummer has been teasing us with pieces of his new project for about a month now and this is the fans’ first chance to get a taste of a completed song from the upcoming self-titled album, set for release 1st October.

Scar the Martyr will also make a video for the heavy new track, which Jordison has described as having the Scar the Martyr template of “hypnotic riffs, soaring choruses, pummeling breakdowns” and “infectious” lyrics. Speaking about Blood Host and how it fits into the debut record as a whole, Jordison said:

It’s very coincidental that Blood Host is our first track and video because it was the first song I wrote for this project when it was nothing but a mere idea at best. Songs, of course, followed, and moulded into an overall feel, concept, and now a full-length album.

The album was recorded at Sound Farm Studios in Jamaica, Iowa, Jordison’s home state and where Slipknot recorded their 2008 album All Hope Is Gone. Scar the Martyr will be supporting Danzig on a North American tour starting 9th August, at Sound Academy in Toronto, Ontario, Canada before wrapping up in Tempe, Arizona’s Marquee Theatre on 31st August.
