Slipknot Post Update On Bassist After He Was Rushed To Hospital Mid-Set

Slipknot have assured fans that their bassist Alessandro “Vman” Venturella “is well on the road to recovery” after he was yesterday rushed to hospital mid-set after experiencing a medical emergency on stage.

“Alex collapsed mid-set after feeling unwell and as a precautionary measure was taken to hospital where he was found to be suffering from severe dehydration,” say the band in a statement posted to Facebook.

“After recuperating overnight, he has now been discharged from hospital and is on his way back to his Slipknot family.”

Slipknot’s performance in Hartford, Connecticut on Sunday, 2nd August, was momentarily cut short when Venturella was rushed to hospital only a handful of songs into the set.

The band still returned to the stage without Venturella around 20 minutes later, and finished off their set without him, while Corey Taylor led the crowd in a communal chanting of “Alex” during the show.

“All being well, Alex will be back onstage with us tomorrow in Mansfield, MA,” continues the statement. “We thank everyone who reached out with messages and well wishes for Alex and we look forward to be being back at full tilt for the rest of the Summer’s Last Stand tour.”
