Slipknot’s Corey Taylor Hates Selfie Sticks, ISIS, Most Things Really

Slipknot frontman and mask aficionado Corey Taylor recently released a book, delightfully titled You’re Making Me Hate You, and chatted to NME about some of the things that inspires his seemingly endless vitriol.

At the top of the list is current du jour of douchebags everywhere, selfie sticks, the insufferable camera phone extender that’s thankfully being banned at an increasing amount of music festivals. Asked what he’d do to someone with a selfie stick in the audience Corey opened up on just how much he despises them:

“I would find a baseball bat – or a cricket bat in England – and I would beat the living shit out of that person probably and then I would go to jail without even being the slightest bit fucking sorry. Cuff me up, officer!”

#Same?

Elsewhere in the interview Corey takes the highly controversial side of hating the shit out of terrorist group ISIS saying “Not that I’m all “rah rah war, that’s the answer” but this is something that could affect everybody. What they stand for just spits in the face of what we should be about. If I think about it for too fucking much I trash a hotel room, which I haven’t done since I quit drinking and what’s the fucking point of that.”

Turns out old mate does like some things though, which include Larry David, creator of Seinfeld, whose “fucking psychotic” neuroses he takes inspiration from, and English people. Go figure.

You can check out the full NME chat here, and yeah, best leave the selfie sticks at home at the next Slipknot concert.
