Smash Mouth Australian Tour October 2012

Written by Brayden Darke on July 17, 2012

2012 is now known as the year of the 90’s revival tours, and what a fitting way to celebrate it – by announcing that Smash Mouth will be touring Australia this October. Enjoying success with their album Astro Lounge, which included one of their most popular tracks All Star, their songs pretty much conjure up memories of any teen comedy flick in my mind.

In 2001, they covered The Monkees’ hit song I’m a Believer. It was featured on both the Shrek movie soundtrack as well as the eponymous album Smash Mouth. The album sold fewer copies than the band’s earlier works. As soon as the album was released, they began to steadily fall down the charts.

Since then the band have existed in several lineups, but are back with the original members and are now on the road to music madness and fun with a new album in 2012 titled Magic, which will be released this September.

Their return to Australia will see them supported by Kid Mac. Tickets go on sale Monday, 30th July.
