In June Billy Corgan tweeted that the band “plan to tour South America and Australia in 2010 and hope to return to the U.S. later this year”. A follow-up post promises a full press release coming soon.
We assumed it would be around the same time the Pumpkins played the Summersonic festival in Japan. However no press release followed.
Earlier today Billy tweeted “Oz SP fans…BIG announcement tomorrow!!!!
So we can only assume that they will have a full press release for us tomorrow. Corgan has been auditioning new band members adding former Veruca Salt and Spinnerette bassist Nicole Fiorentino to the latest Smashing Pumpkins. line-up.
