Snakadaktal Announce Dance Bear 2012 Tour Dates

Following an overwhelmingly positive response from fans after triple j debuted their new single Dance Bear earlier this month, Melbourne’s Snakadaktal have announced that they will be loading up the van and hitting the road for their most extensive national tour to date.

Snakadaktal’s career has grown organically and with the help of the public. Taking the crown in the 2011 edition of triple j Unearthed High Competition, Snakadaktal released their debut self-titled EP, which landed at #26 on the ARIA charts. Featured on the EP was Chimera and the very much-loved Air, which peaked at #22 in the Hottest 100 and has had over 190,000 YouTube views. The release caused enough of a stir for the group to announce two separate headlining national tours, selling out a whole bunch of dates along the way.

Punters around the country got the taste stuck in their mouth and wanted more. As a result, the band locked themselves in a studio at the start of this year with friend and producer Malcolm Besley, to emerge months later with Dance Bear, a delicately vocal track with punchy choruses. The band also accompanied The Jezebels on their national tour.

This time round, the band has announced a solid string of shows all over the land; I get short of breath just looking at it. They will be joined by Sures, who you may remember from the recent WAVVES tour. Their single Stars is currently getting flogged through airwaves all over the country.
