The organisers of Soulfest, “Australia’s first ever neo-soul, jazz and hip-hop festival,” have announced full details for Soul Search. The battle of the bands-style competition kicks off this July, with winners in each city added as the respective final support for the inaugural Soulfest lineup.
Organisers are “calling all musos” to send a demo and bio to soulsearch@soulfest.com.au. According to the official Soulfest Facebook page, the search will involve four live heats and two live finals in each city where Soulfest is set to take place – Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.
Registrations for Soul Search close 5pm Friday, 27th June. Winners will be added to one of the most superb boutique festival lineups ever to hit Australian shores, spanning R&B stars like D’Angelo, Maxwell, Anthony Hamilton, and Aloe Blacc, to rap legends like Common and Mos Def.
